3D CAT Scan
Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art, full-cranial cone-beam CT (computed tomography) technology that provides highly accurate 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of oral surgery. This technology provides a highly accurate 3-D radiographic image for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of orthodontics, implantology, TMJ analysis, airway assessment, oral and orthognathic surgery and other dental procedures. Undistorted, anatomically correct views of the jaws, teeth and facial bones along with cross-sectional (bucco-lingual), axial, coronal, sagittal, cephalometric and panoramic views are easily generated. Three-dimensional images enable a level of anatomical accuracy and patient care not possible with 2-D technologies.
Is the Scan Comfortable?
Yes! You are seated in an open area unlike an MRI scan-and the CT scanner moves around your head. The scan will take place in Pannu Dental’s comfortable Cupertino office and from start to finish, it will take about 19 seconds.
Is the CT Safe?
The scan is very safe! We use cone beam technology, which emits very small amounts of radiation for the CT scan. In fact, the imaging requires less radiation than a traditional X-ray and the cone beam technology emits 80 to 100 times less radiation than a traditional medical CT scan of the same area. Plus, the CT is also safe for your wallet with lower costs than a medical CT.
With the addition of cone-beam CT technology in our office, our practice is committed to providing innovative, high-quality, patient care. CT scans are quickly becoming the standard of care because it offers the doctor so much more information than traditional 2D flat image X-rays. If you live anywhere in the Bay Area, Dr. Pannu and his friendly staff of professionals are prepared to offer you the best in advanced dentistry.
